   21st FEB 2002 - Gran Turismo Beater
   Top Of Page
Rallisport Challenge is a new Driving simulation on the Xbox, which looks like it can beat Gran Turismo. Although it may not have all the different types of driving that GT has, but what it does have is a great looking rally mode. 30 different licensed cars are all recreated wonderfully and in game effects like very realistic reflections on cars, particle effects like dirt snow and smoke are all here, this game pays very close attention to detail. Well if you've got a fast enough connection, you can watch the game in action, or you can just make do with the preview at GameSpot.

   1st FEB 2002 - A Couple New Games
   Top Of Page
Universal Interactive has announced that Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex will be coming to the Xbox, and at the same time, Sega has announced that development has begun on Crazy Taxi 3 for the Xbox. Details on the Crazy Taxi 3 are few and far between, but what is known is that is will feature new characters, game modes and a secret course. The game is set to be released in the summer (of 2002).

Now Crash Bandicoot. You already know the ins and out of the game, and if you don't then follow this link to GameSpot for some info and screens. The game will obviously feature graphical improvements, and due to the built in hard drive, loading times will be cut down quite a bit. The game is scheduled for a 2002 release.

12th JAN 2002 - Lord Of The Rings Series
   Top Of Page
The film was great, and the game is now in development. It is the first of eight games to be based on the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. This will be a third-person, non-linear game which will allow you to roam freely around all of Middle Earth. The game shows much attention to detail, and will allow you to interact with the number of characters in the book as you explore the different environments of Middle-Earth. The game is set to come out sometime next autumn, and you can check out the latest info at the official website.

   Top Of Page
Were you one of those people that said that Microsoft have bigger plans for the Xbox, only to be told you were being paranoid, well now you can say you were right. Read this short article with Microsoft's Chief Executive Steve Ballmer who doesn't give much details, but leads us to think that there is more along the way for the Xbox.

   18th NOV 2001 - Unreal Championship
   Top Of Page
Unreal Championship is the latest in the line of Unreal games, and is one that shows what the Xbox is capable of, you can see them at GameSpot. I personally don't think it looks better than Unreal 2, but anyway, I'll let the screenshots do the talking.

   Top Of Page
Well, it's put up or shut up time. All of the next-gen consoles are out and available to the public (at least in one country), and it is now time to see who will win. Just to refresh your memory: Sony's PS2, Microsoft's XBOX and Nintendo's GAMECUBE. The PS2 already has a lead of a year on it's competitors, but only time will tell what impact that will have. Check out a more in-depth report at Game Revolution.
