Sony have announced details of it's broadband gaming service, named Playstation BB. PS2 owners will be able to connect to an always online network,where they can play games, download music and even PS2 and PSone games onto the hard drive. Sony Japan have promised that their enhanced broadband services will be better than that of the PC, and all through your TV. The service is due to be out in April in Japan, but now date has been set for US or UK.

Sony have also announced the long awaited Platinum range of game for the PS2, which will launch on the 1st of March in the UK, for £19.99 (not definite). You can expect to see games such as Tekken Tag Tournament and Gran Turismo 3, two of no less than nine games to be released on the 1st.

Eidos have released new screenshots of Deus Ex for the PS2. The game was a massive hit on The PC, and should be no different on the PS2, the game has been modified for the PS2 with features including more realistic particle effects and optimised control system for the PS2 check out the shots at ps2.gamezone.com

It's getting closer to the release of the next generation of Tomb Raider, and as that time nears, more info will be seen. So here is some info for you, at pczone.co.uk. The game seems to be more than a mere sequel, more like a new type of game, the gameplay will be much deeper than the basic jump, shoot, jump that we are used to. There will also be two playable characters int the game too, so this could be something special. The game is set for a late 2002 release on both PC and PS2.

PS2 IGN have some updated news on the first MMORPG on the PS2, of course I am talking about Final Fantasy XI. You can find out more about the world of Vana'Diel, from the background, to the different races on this world, and the different environments that you will travel through. I suppose it was going to happen somewhere, and Australia is that somewhere. The very graphic nature of GTA3 is not suitable for Australian audiences (I don't see anything wrong with it), and since they don't have a mature certificate or anything similar, it cannot be shipped there. But Take Two are determined to get the game released in Australia and will have to make serious changes if that is to happen. My personal opinion is that if they change it so it becomes less graphic, it won't be Grand Theft Auto so there's no point. But that's just my opinion.

PS2 fans can look forward to some great games soon, and what I've decide to do is gather link to a few of these great games, like Herdy Gerdy which is probably one of the most ambitious games on the PS2 where everything you do effects your surroundings. Maximo, which is like an update of the original Ghost and Goblins, brought to you by Capcom. For all the people in Europe, you can see a bit more of Metal Gear Solid 2 while you wait. Tekken 4 is looking good should be out sometime in 2002. As for the rest of the games, Phate should be updating the Most Wanted list soon, so keep checking back.

Square will be releasing a beta test of their new online multiplayer RPG FFXI to the people to try for themselves. Those chosen will receive the game and all the extras that are needed to connect to the Sony PlayOnline server. In return, they will report any bugs and any general feedback. Oh yeah, this is only available in Japan, sorry for getting your hopes up.

To celebrate there success Sony are launching 2000 limited edition PS2's in glossy metallic colours with Dual Shock 2 pads and a stand to match.
