Age Of Empires
As with most RTS games, keep an eye on your recourses, once they run out your in trouble.
Have a idea of what path you are going to take before hand and make your decisions quick.
Study your civilisation to find out what age it best to start your main attacks from.
Get to the next age as fast as possible. However, don't spend valuable recourses getting to the next age only to find that you can't make any more units. Find a balance.
Don't forget your villagers. If in the early stages of a level you find yourself being attack by basic units, use your villagers along with your own military units to overpower the invaders.
Attack in masses, it will be much more effective. Take a whole group of units and concentrate your attacks.

Aliens Vs Predator
Aliens: Because the Aliens are very fast and can walk on walls and ceilings, your best bet would be to attack from those positions.
Because of the speed advantage, strafe around marines while attacking and you won't be touched. The alien cannot pick up medikits, the only way to regenerate is to consume your enemies. Hide in the shadows and use the jaw attack to get health back. Use the claw attack from the back you should make quick work of enemies without the risk of being shot at.
Predator: probably the predator's most valuable ability is cloaking. While stand still you will be very hard to see, the more you move the less effective your cloaking is. Using energy weapons will turn off your cloaking, so stay still and use the spear gun for maximum effect. When fighting marines, don't expect to win any close range battles, instead use the predators abilities, stealth and sniping. find a good spot and pick of the marines from a distance. You can also use cloaking and wait for a marine to walk past you and then use the element of surprise. Take on the aliens like the marines pick them off from a distance and use the cloak, the pistol is also quite affective against them.
Marines: The marines are the slowest of the bunch, so approach with caution. Don't rush into new areas even though you have a hefty arsenal at your disposal. Use flares when looking around dark areas, especially when you feel there are aliens around because aliens will camouflage in the darkness of the levels. The marines don't really have any special abilities, just raw firepower, use this when fighting aliens. A few rounds to the head with the pulse rifle will floor them. The predator is a different story, you'll need special weaponry to combat the special abilities of these guys. When fighting predators, bring out the biggest and baddest weapons that you have at that moment.

Black & White
Even though using the mouse to navigate the landscape is a good feature, it is still better to use the keyboard because you are already familiar with it.
When moving to a new land, put a scaffold near the vortex, a teleport near the vortex and another teleport in a village. The villagers will use the teleport to build the scaffold and be sucked into the vortex.

Colin McRae 2.0
The handbrake is essential to success, if you master the power-slide then your job will become that much easier.
Find out which surfaces are best to power-slide on, for example on snow or mud courses it is best to power slide (or drift).
Repair areas that are colored in red, these areas need immediate attention. However, because of the 60 minute time limit, try to focus on the brakes steering and gears.

Counter-Strike
Get used to the number buying system in the newer version of Counter-Strike, don't take time to decide what weapons you want or don't want, chances are by the time you've finished selecting you'll be dead.
The radar on your HUD only shows your team-mates, don't get confused and think someone from the opposing team is sneaking up on you, people don't like it when you kill your own team-mates.
When firing use the burst-fire method. Just tap the fire button in short bursts, this is a good way to keep your shots accurate.
Aim for the head (no explanation needed).
When you carry the knife you move much faster than when carrying a large weapon, you can do this to get to places quicker than others. But take note, you're only armed with a knife.
Even though Counter-Strike is much different to Q3 or UT, some of the same rules will still apply, namely the more you move the less likely you are to get shot. However this has consequences in CS, because the more you move, the less accurate your fire will be. You make the choice.

Commandos 2
If you have knocked out any enemies, don't forget to tie them up, all commandos except the thief and Natasha can tie enemies.
Use your sniper to maximum effect by placing him on top of a telephone pole, obviously do this when the coast is clear.
If you get stuck at anytime, look through each of your available commandos inventor, you might find something useful.
Hide bodies at every chance you get, enemies eyesight seems to be very good and you may be surprised to find that they have spotted one of their fallen allies legs hanging round the corner of a building.
The spy can disguise himself as a general and distract enemies, don't forget this. Don't forget also that if someone of equal or higher rank sees him, he will be found out.

Deus Ex
Choose your weapons carefully, you can't just keep everything you pick up. Think to yourself: do I really need two different shotguns. Also when you get an item use it as quickly as possible, for example if you have a number of different weapon mods and you can't decide which weapon to use them on, get over it, another one will be along soon.

Giants
Mecc: Sometimes sending your mecc teammates into a losing battle will help you survive. You teammates will die an then recover you will not.
Reaper: Use the default sword in conjunction with the turbo; turbo in slice your opponent and then turbo out again.
Kabuto:When playing the giant don't kill opponents, eat them because you regenerate health for this. When being attacked by a very large group of even the smallest enemies, run...even the smallest enemies can do big damage in groups.

H
Hitman
When buying equipment, try and stick to the simple things like the fibre wire and beretta because inside missions, you can take weapons from your victims.
Use the gun that came with the clothes. For instance, if you kill a Red Dragon member, take his gun because if you use that gun with his clothes you will not cause suspicion.
Make kills as near to a hiding place as possible.
The silenced beretta doesn't really reduce detection, when you kill someone with it, people are going to be alerted to the death screams anyway.
In the "Find the U'wa Tribe" mission, as soon as you start, run towards the crash site (east), you will get there before the crash site is secured.
On the mission where you must eliminate the drug-lord, don't bother shooting him. When you start the level there should be a broken crate to your left, take a knife from it. When you have killed everyone in the mansion, get your knife ready. As soon as you open the drug-lord's door run and slit his throat. You might need to do this more than once but it's easy once you get the hang of it.
Get the latest patch if you haven't already, it has an option to slow down time, similar to Max Payne's bullet time. It may prove useful in some situations and it's fun too.

Hostile Waters
In later missions there are a large amount of AK-AK around, so try to have as much ground support as air support, maybe more.
Only use the static platform when required. In most missions you will be out to get something or destroy something, so the static platform won't be of much use.
Use the Warhammer gun attachment to destroy enemy turrets, they can hit from a very long distance without being hit.
When equipped with the recycle unit, the scarab is probably the most important unit on the battle field, without it you cannot build any units.
When you are about to go into a massive battle, make sure you have lots of spare energy to replace lost units.

Insane
When in destruction zone, I've noticed that you get more points when you clip another car rather that go head on with it, but that might just be me.
Also in Destruction Zone, if you pick the fastest car, you will get to the zone faster than others. Or you can opt for the Goliath type vehicle and just rollover or opponent.
When in an off-road race, if you see another driver nudge into him in an attempt to knock him of course, that way you have one less driver to worry about.
Find out which vehicles drive best over different terrain types, use this to your advantage.
When in the air, hold down the space bar (handbrake)to reduce your chances of tipping over when you land, assuming you haven't already gone over in mid air.

M
Max Payne
Since the desert eagle is very powerful and accurate, try and use it more in the later levels where the enemies are harder to kill. This also applies to the Colt Commando, in later levels the enemies will use this gun so ammo shouldn't be a problem.
When opening crates and smashing windows, use the melee weapons to save ammo.
Use the sniper rifle for long distance attacks (duh), as to use it otherwise would be a waste of ammo that is very hard to come by.
Shootdodging to the sides gives the enemies a bigger target than Shootdodging backwards.
When using melee weapons sneak up on enemies rather than go head on with them (for obvious reasons).
If you have a high-end PC, every so often, pause the game and admire the graphics.

No One Lives Forever
When reloading, try hiding round corners or behind an obstacle as to not take any damage from enemies.
Not bothered about stealth? Then just make some noise near a doorway or hallway entrance and then start picking of the baddies as they come.
If you're high on health and have armor and you happen to come across some more armor, go in to the next area and clear out any enemies then come back for the armor.
When under fire, look for cover as your enemies will do the same, don't make yourself an easy target.
Aim for a head shot. You will require less ammo when going for the head than you will when going for the chest.
Use pistols when taking on single enemies, and switch to automatics when taking on groups.
If you happen to stumble on a conversation between guards, don't interrupt, wait until they've finished. Because once they have finished, they will walk away giving you the chance to take them out without them even realizing.

Oni
Try to reload only when your current clip is completely empty, otherwise the ammo that's already in your clip will be lost.
Since you can only one weapon at a time completely empty you current before changing.

Project IGI
Stay away from barracks, there is no point losing health over nothing. If you need ammo then pay a visit to warehouses.
If you can try and lure enemies into a place where you can take them out easier, like round a corner.
If your sneaking up on someone, use the knife to save ammo and to make a silent kill.

Q
Quake III: Arena
Movement: When playing Quake and unreal, I usually use the direction keys, delete and end, and ctrl for movement, but recently I have found a new combination (somewhere on the net), which is as followed: Move forward: Right mouse button Backpedal: X Step left: Z Step right: C Jump: Space bar Crouch: Left Ctrl key. When I first saw this combination I was quick to dismiss it but if you take the time to get used to it, it does help. However, you don't have to use this combination, find a combination that you feel comfortable with. You can also bind the weapon keys closer to the movement keys. With the weapon keys closer to your fingers, you can disable the auto switch weapons which can be annoying at times.
Deathmatch: LEARN TO STRAFE!!! that is of course if you don't already. I think this is one of the most important strategies, if you keep moving you reduce your chances of being hit and therefore improve your chances of survival (it's all logical).
If for a moment you think your alone, think again. People will respawn, always be watchful. It also helps if you know the respawn points.
When use the rocket launcher, grenade launcher, or plasma gun, try and guess the path of your opponent. This is because these projectiles will take longer to reach you opponent.
When you using the rocket launcher aim at people's feet, you have a much bigger chance of doing damage to them(splash damage).
It helps if you know where power-ups and health are on a level.

R
Rune
Even though this isn't a FPS, strafing will reduce the chances of you being hit. In addition to strafing, using the shield will also help your cause.
Experiment with the different weapons available, find out what weapon works best with what enemy, for instance, you will find that using a type of sword will be better to dispatch of zombies and snake plants rather than using a hammer.

S
Soldier Of Fortune
Same story applies here, aim for the head. There are a number of kill zones on each enemy, so if you can find them it will make life a lot easier (I think the groin and the throat are two of them).
some enemies will fake death, so it may save you some trouble if you make sure that they won't be getting up again (maybe while they're down a head shot will make sure they stay that way).
Remember to take the ammo off of the corpses you will leave lying around the place, this will help you a lot.
Fire in short, controlled bursts to conserve ammo. Also, make sure you always have a full clip in your gun just in case you get attacked without warning.

Swat 3: Close Quarters Battle
If your about to enter a room and you have no idea what's on the other side, send in you team mates first because they will react faster to a hostile situation.

System Shock II
Search everywhere, in every corner, desk, bin, whatever. Take the time to search everywhere and you may just find what you where looking for.
When you've found something, take it. Steal from other people's rooms or even corpses. Even though you have a limited inventory identical items will be placed in the same slot.

U
Unreal Tournament
Basically the same as QIII.
Lets see...Keep watch of your health, the best way to retreat is backwards, try to fire into crowds, don't die, pick on the weaker ones, that sort of thing.
Oh wait, one extra thing. Since the weapons in Unreal have second functions you can bind this to the middle mouse button (if you have one).
