REVIEW: I can not see how anyone would not want to take the role of a hitman to take out major authority figures-in the game world anyway. Hitman is a smart game, it can be played gun-ho, but I reckon that it is much more rewarding to carefully plan out a hit and then carry it out in style (after the 4th or 5th time). There are 11 levels to play through spanning from Hong Kong, Columbia, Hungary, and Holland. The two levels at the end aren't based in any of the named locations, but I won't describe them for the sake of anyone how hasn't played it. Speaking of the last two levels, it brings me to a criticism of Hitman, and that is the storyline which is basically non-existent until those two levels. Not that I think that this takes a whole lot from the game or anything, but it would have been better if the story was spread out instead of sprung on you. But the missions are quite detailed and are not just enter and shoot, but you must plan your way through by taking out certain people and then the main target.

Now on to a different matter and a very positive one at that, the graphics. I would say that at the time of release, Hitman had some of the best graphics around providing you had the right system of course. When you shoot against different surfaces, you'll get the right effects like sparks flying and bullet holes in the surface. The detail of the environment is brilliant and the character detail is equally impressive. Also the environment in which you have to carry out your hits and the seamless transition from indoor to outdoor areas is definitely a big plus for the game. There are no loading screens when coming from outdoor to indoor and vise versa.
The AI is not bad, however, it's weird that whenever you walk past anyone they will stare you down (well I guess they don't see many bald people in Hong Kong). Sound is effective, bullets sound like bullets, and if you shoot off different materials you get the relative sounds - WOW, how about that huh.

So basically I'm saying that if you don't already own Hitman and you have some money lying around, go buy it...now, you will not be disappointed, I assure you.
