RATING (out of 10): 9
REVIEW: Wow...er...wow, what more do I need to say, come on man its Grand Theft Auto in 3D! You still want me to write more? Fine I guess I'd better get it over with. Let me start out with a brief description of the concept of GTA for all those people out there who for some reason or another haven't played any of the previous incarnations. You play a freelance criminal (a mercenary if you like) who goes around the fictitious Liberty City and complete jobs from various gangs (including the Mafia and Yakuza!), as well as that you can just cruise around and do whatever the hell you want including steal any car you see, kill anyone with weapons ranging from your fist's up to a rocket launcher and I haven't even mentioned the kill frenzy's... But i digress, this is supposed to be a review of GTA, you really shouldn't let me get sidetracked like that. In this new (3D!!!) version you get to do all of the above and more, now instead of being restricted to one of three islands at a time, you spend all the game on one map consisting of three islands joined up by bridges, subways, underground tunnels and you can even get boats - although the boat option is a little dull 'cos there are no other people out in the water -. As a little extra side mission those kind(?) people at Rockstar have hidden 100 packages around LC, and for every ten of those packages you find you get a new pickup at your hideouts - usually a weapon - which is yours forever, and then there's the radio, you get to pick from 9 different radio stations to listen to in your car all of which have commercials and DJ's/hosts - my favorite is Chatterbox, some of those interviews are hilarious - and hows this for a cool extra, if you see/hear a web address then chances are rockstar have made a web page with that address, most of theses are one page affairs, but it just shows how much thought was put into the game But does this game deserve a perfect 10/10, well not quite but its close I give this game a 9 and if you own a PS2 go get this game, if you don't own a PS2 then this is the perfect excuse for you to get one. See ya
